Our History

In May 1967, Dr. Joseph L. Morton and Dr. John W. Courtney established Northwest Radiologists, PC, inaugurating their first X-ray lab equipped with three full-time technologists and a part-time typist. This facility provided a convenient and easily accessible service in a nurturing environment for referring physicians and their patients.

Fast forward fifty plus years, and Northwest Radiology has evolved into one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in Indiana, renowned for its exceptional diagnostic imaging services. In addition to six outpatient offices, Northwest Radiology also maintains collaborations with several specialty clinics.

More than five decades later, Northwest Radiology, PC, continues to celebrate a legacy of trusted imaging. While the team and technology have evolved, the core mission remains unchanged: to deliver top-tier imaging services and compassionate care at reasonable costs. Although faces, locations, and names may shift, the essence, heritage, and founding principles of NWR persist.

In commemoration of our 50th anniversary in 2017, the Northwest Radiology team embarked on over “50 Acts of Kindness,” extending support to communities across central Indiana and beyond by volunteering and contributing to various projects, programs, and organizations.
