Uterine Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop in the uterus and are prevalent in one out of three women aged between 30 and 50 years. Symptoms commonly associated with uterine fibroids include heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure on the bladder or bowel.
Uterine fibroid embolization offers a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment alternative for uterine fibroids. This procedure, performed by an interventional radiologist, involves the use of a fluoroscope—a high-definition X-ray camera—to navigate a catheter to the uterine arteries accurately. By injecting small particles through the catheter, the blood supply to the fibroids is blocked, leading to their shrinkage and the alleviation of symptoms for most patients.

Osteoporosis Screening

At Northwest Radiology Network, we provide bone density studies to screen for osteoporosis, utilizing a straightforward, painless, and non-invasive approach focusing on the lumbar spine and hip. These tests are designed to assess bone density and forecast the risk of fractures. Our board-certified radiologists employ advanced imaging techniques such as DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) to meticulously analyze your bone density.
